To function as an applied resource centre on Natural Resource Management (NRM) for Sustainable management of natural resources through research, documentation, publication and local initiatives and actions. To enhance the quality of Life of indigenous communities in need through eco-friendly approach. Creation of model communities which are environment friendly, economically sound/stable, socially just, culturally rich and spiritually balanced with special focus on the backward and weaker sections of the society. To conserve traditional knowledge and its scientific promotion towards sustainable development of the society.
