NGO Resource Centre is a national level NGO Support Centre that is run and managed by Non Profit Organization “Chanakya”. NGO Support Centre has a team comprising multi-disciplinary professionals to build capacity of functionaries, takes initiatives for appropriate policy changes and carries out field studies related to policy issues. History of NGO Support Centre

NGO Support Centre was established in the year 2000 to guide and provide assistance in the field of social development and welfare to the non government organizations, Funding Agencies, Social Activists, Community Based Organizations and Corporate Bodies. There was a need to promote social development at the national and international level. With this view NGO Support Centre came into existence to collaborate with rural agencies like Government Organizations, Non Governmental Organizations, and private sector at the state, national and international level so that a plan can be formulated to employ resources and implement social development projects.

NGOs India Support Centre has a vision to promote social justice, bring about sustainable development and increase awareness about human rights. We support freedom of expression and consider it as a basic human right extremely important to further the cause of sustainable development. This is why we provide free access to all the information which might be essential before making important decisions at all levels. We are committed to provide information and make it available easily so that the marginalized and unprivileged sections of society who are usually not even represented can benefit from it, thereby, promoting sustainable development initiatives. There is a huge data gap between these backward sections of society and the affluent techs savvy ones. NGOs India Support centre aims to part this data gap and emerge as a trusted secure source of information.

NGOs India Network is on the mission to support the emerging civil society in India by providing them resources to bring about socio-economic development in the country. We are on a mission to build capacities of the NGOs in India by providing them consultancy, training and guidance on various organizational as well as management issues. We advocate peace, reconciliation and cooperation among all the NGOs and for this we provide platform to facilitate communication and intercultural dialogue among them. We form the link between local CSOs and international NGOs thereby supporting the Indian Civil society in their decision making process and academics. Training and Capacity Building

Capacity building is one of the NGO Support Centre’s niche areas. It facilitates capacity building of Social activists, various stakeholders, NGO representatives and government functionaries. We know that success of any organization lies in its sustainability and efforts it puts in improving the capacity of its workers, stakeholders including farmers, NGO representatives and government functionaries. Therefore we impart state and national level capacity building training to community based organizations, NGOs, Government functionaries as well as students from various academic institutions. For this we utilize our rich pool of resource persons that consist of field practitioners, academicians, co-trainers etc.

NGO Support Centre’s uniqueness lies in designing and conducting capacity building programs, taking follow up after imparting training; exploring and analyzing capacity building need through project visits, consultation; preparing a draft training module in consultation with the participants and finalizing the module; blending theoretical and practical sessions by making the participants visit successful project sites etc.

Entire training is conducted in English, Hindi and regional languages as per the convenience of participants. Audio- visual mediums, pictorial presentations, group discussions, experience sharing, case study, role play, demonstration of methods, site visit etc. are used in the training session to help participants understand better and that too in an enjoyable interactive way. We even develop post training follow up plan to translate the learning into action.
