Purpose : Social Work.
Aim/Objective/Mission : Mission : making health a reality for the people of himachal pradesh. Vision : respect for human rights and social justice, a strengthen health movement in the state, generation of demand for the public health system, equitable provision and distribution. Objective: distributive justice in health care programmes leading to self-reliance of the community and increased community participation. To fulfil the needs of the community with optimum utilisation of existing resources. To create an environment for building up a people’s movement through effective networking, lobbying, campaigning and grassroots mobilization. To help in evolution of low cost, appropriate and people oriented health programmes in harmony with the traditional knowledge and skills of community. To provide support services to community development programmes taken up by the grass root level voluntary organizations. To conduct research and studies on various aspects of social development and initiate advocacy with the state government. To provide training, education and capacity building of the community with regard to their rights and demands. To strengthen voluntary organizations working in the area of health and social development. To enhance the collaboration between government and voluntary organisations. To play a major role in the larger area of social justice, environment and sustainable development. To work for the development, welfare and education of children in need and distress. To work for the attainment/protection of the rights of the children. To work of the welfare of disabled person and protection of their rights. About us: hpvha is a state chapter of voluntary health association of India(vhai) and is a network of leading ngo’s of himachal pradesh engaged in health, inclusive growth, sustainable developmental activities in the state. Hpvha is working on issues and concerns of health and development in since 198hpvha is a registered non profit-making society registered under society registration act, xxi of 1860 having a secular constitution which aims at improving the health of the people irrespective of the caste, creed, sex and religion. The organization works in the field of community health and development, child rights rural sanitation and grass root member voluntary orgnizations to plan, implement and evaluate their development programmes. Another important role that the organization performs is liaisoning for the grass root non-profit organizations with the state government the central govt. And national/international agencies. The organization is committed to promote social justice through equitable provision of health services in the state. The organization works in the field of community health and helps the grass root level voluntary organizations to plan, implement and evaluate their developmental programmes. Hpvha is committed to promoting social justice by ensuring provision of health services and assuring access to same in himachal pradesh. Hpvha strongly advocates that enlightened people respond responsibly to health needs of their families and larger communities. As a voluntary organization which in itself is an important component of civil society, hpvha has evolved as a model in hp for effective formulation and implementation of sustainable development programmes. With the passage of time hpvha has started implementing different project on public health, hiv prevention/care and support, disability, child rights, education, reproductive and child health, maternal health and research and analysis of budget for right based advocacy, iec campaign on personnel and public hygiene under tsc and nrdwp, health service in un-served and under served areas, capacity building and strengthening of grass root organizations and policy advocacy and formulation of government schemes.
