A balance between economic and social development is sought for in an eco-friendly manner where local priorities are not sacrificed to global demands. Individual freedom and autonomy is sustained with collective solidarity. Shanti international’s vision of a desirable world which is based on values of equity, justice, freedom, peace and solidarity with a philosophy taken forward in all its actions ? knowledge is power. Shanti international’s mission is to work towards the promotion of policies, institutions and capacities that strengthen voices and participation against the marginalisation of communities. The idea is to improve their socio-economic status through democratic governance. Shanti international?s mission is to reach out, through such governance, to everyone in society and to ease their participation in the governance process.
