Purpose : Joining the NGO list
Aims/Objectives/Mission : To promote formal and non-formal education (both male & female), eg. Nurseries, high schools, technical/non-technical & medical schools & d.ed, b.ed colleges. To promote social, economical, health & educational development of the weaker section of the society, by providing hostels and ashram schools. To undertake different types of welfare schemes and training programmes for mentally retarded, physically challenged and blind, deaf and dumb children so as to enable them to become self-reliant. To promote arts, music, sports, literature, drama by organising competitions, and promoting talent amongst the people. To cooperate with national and international organizations having similar objectives and depute or receive representatives from such organizations and to work for development of community awareness and vocational activity for the rural mass. To establish training cum research centre for the unemployed and improve village economy through agriculture, horticulture, bee keeping, poultry farming, dairy farming, duck farming, goat farming, animal husbandry, hatchery, fishery, herbal plantation, cane wood plantation, nursery for plants and flowers. To undertake different types of welfare, professional and vocational training programmes for youth so as to enable them to be self-reliant. To acquire, establish, start, aid, run, maintain, or manage schools, colleges, nursing and medical colleges, libraries, hospitals, ayurvedic and homeopathic centres for the benefit of the people. To undertake and establish adult literacy and training programmes. To publish periodicals, dailies/weekly/monthly towards awareness of education, health and sanitation. To provide scholarships for the backwards and weaker sections students. To provide counselling facilities for socially and emotionally distressed sections of society and to create awareness among them of the social realities. To cooperate with national and international organizations having similar objectives for the development and conservation of natural resources, national heritage and folk culture and brotherhood. To make awareness amongst the rural/urban children and adults about Education and assists them to recognize and improve their potentialities through proper information, knowledge sharing and transfer of modern technical literacy, to guide them to be useful citizens of better tomorrow, to promote sustainable development in rural and urban economy. In the 21st century OLES is poised to be the pioneer for resource centre assuring social-orientation, economic growth, local capacity building and empowerment of progress and success. OLES vision is to achieve a value-oriented sustainable society based for the people, on the people, by the people for a complete social transformation. Our Lady?S Educational Society, Satara was founded in March 1998 by Leena James Samuel with some energetic, dedicated teachers with the same ideas and ambitions in Satara district in Maharashtra, At that time there was no platform for English Medium School to cater to the need of children of rural and urban areas. Thus the concept of OLES and its object of providing educational, medical, social-economical platform for multi-sectoral development was sown. Now oles is a registered non-profit organization in Satara District of Maharashtra State in India.
