Aim/Objective/Mission : Children and handicapped empowerment services trust (chest) is non religious and non communal registered society under the Tamil Nadu societies registration act 1979 section 27, having 18/2000 as its registered number, predominantly working in the field of children and handicapped particularly with mentally retarded and ill besides women, elder and downtrodden of the society. The chest has also got registered with the ministry of home affairs under foreign contribution regulation act (fcra) and income tax exemption act for 80g and 12a. Chest is having a democratic structure and system of operation to attain the task. General committee and executive committee are playing a vital role in this organization. Current activities :- special school : since august,2000 the chest actively involved in running a special school namely chest aangelin special school for differentially abled particularly for mentally retarded children is an institution with residential facility having strength of 66 of both sexes with staff strength of six trained special educators and five attendants besides two cooks. The school headed by a rehabilitation personnel accredited by the rehabilitation council of India, New Delhi.
