Hence if we do not partner with the community in our efforts of eradicating preventable blindness, number of people with severe visual disability will be double by the year 2020. Sri Sai Lions Netralaya (A Unit of lions of patna service trust) is committed towards its mission to prevent blindness, restore eyesight, promote eye health and aims to provide low-cost affordable access to high quality eye care services for all, especially for those living in poverty. We are focusing on reaching more old age person as well as women and children – vision for all. How ssln will make a difference in Bihar ? The ssln is providing free and low cost quality treatment to thousands of needy patients of Bihar. Facilities like free pickup and drop services encourages the poor and needy patients of remote and rural areas to come to the hospital for necessary eye treatment. Addition of a dormitory – where attendants can stay while their relatives are being treated and a canteen to provide food to attendants at subsidized rates are the facilities which are bound to make a difference. Apart from holding free outreach screening camps, hospital also performs iol cataract surgery, serves free meals and provides free medicines. Quality optics too are provided to the poor and needy patients free of cost. Our 16 vision centres situated in various districts of Bihar also play an important role to fulfill our mission – vision for all. These centres will identify and screen needy patients from different corners of the state, particularly rural and underserved areas. This should prove beneficial to a large number of eye patients. Above all sri sai lions netralaya (a unit of lions of Patna service trust) is bound to raise standard of eye care in Bihar. The peope of state would not have to travel long distances to other states for reliable treatment, as they will have state of the art facilities provided by expert ophthalmic consultants and specialist surgeons here at Patna and very affordable cost too. Needless to say sri sai lions netralaya in the lines of the, humongous and ambitious vision 2020- literally believes and follows the four directives of the same : integration – through relying and working with the best ophthalmologists and optometrists.
