Aim/Objective/Mission : The aims and objectives of Kumaun Sewa Samiti is to end all forms of violence and exploitation of women and other marginalized sections in the society and work for their educational, social and economic empowerment through consistent micro level interventions with partnership and collaboration of the stakeholders. Since the inception of the organization, it is working with most marginalized communities like the Tharu tribals living in scattered settlements along the Indo-Nepal borders. Our interventions are basically reclamation of their land rights, engaging women in economic activities through skill development and training in a host of rural and household industries and building a right based approach to development and change. Empowering women through education, orienting and sensitising them towards the multitude of violence and exploitation meted out to them by men within the families and communities as a whole is the bedrock of Kumaun Sewa Samiti and so far the organization had made perceptible changes in the lives of poor women by its micro level initiatives.

Purpose :
Aim/Objective/Mission : Pariyavaran Evam Jan Kalyan Samiti?s (PEJKS) work area is concentrated in Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand state. Udham Singh Nagar has borders with Uttar Pradesh, Nepal and is just 270 Kms from Delhi. This area is getting highly industrialized; hence flow of labourers from different parts of the country in this region is more. Hence, the prevalence of HIV/AIDS is high in this region. PEJKS is implementing TB DOTS programme under Revised National Tuberculosis Programme (RNTCP) funded by Government of India in Udham Singh Nagar since 2005. Under this programme PEJKS runs 3 Tuberculosis Units (TU) in Rudrapur, Khatima and Kashipur for administering DOTS to patients and the experience is that the prevalence of TB in this region is much higher than other districts of Uttarkhand. For this specific project the organization wants to concentrate on Rudrapur TU. Rudrapur TU comprises of 56 DOT centres and caters to 640 TB patients (2008-09 figures). The organization also runs an HIV/AIDS programme in Rudrapur block. 98 HIV/AIDS patients are registered with the organization from Rudrapur block. This programme is funded by Uttarakhand AIDS control society.
