Aims/Objectives/Mission : SCORD came into existence in 1990 as the outcome of efforts by enthusiastic youth in alangottai village to help the socially and marginalized sections of people in mannargudi block of Thiruvarur district in the state of tamilnadu. It was started in a humble way by the youth trying to understand the ground realities of life and suffering of a common man in adjoining five villages to initiate a development activity. Mr. Anbarasu who is active in social service right from his college days headed the youth team with a passion for development and concern for the poor and marginalized village people. This development initiative has become a good network by now expanding the activity to 132 rural panchayats, one town panchayat and one municipality in three adjoining districts i.e. Thiruvarur, Thanjavur and Nagapattinam.
