Aim/Objective/Mission : To educate the consumer of their right and responsibilities. To protect the interests and welfare of the consumers. The build a strong consumer residence towards anti-consumer practices by making the people consumer conscious and aware consumer to inform it self about the problem of consumers, consider and promote action according to urgency and practicability. To consider, originate and support improvements welfare laws. To consider and formulate opinions on all questions concerned with consumers. Producers and distributors, etc. To promote or oppose legislative and other measures affecting consumers immediately or ultimately and thus obtain by all acknowledged means, the removal as for as possible of grievances affecting consumers a body and consumer interests in general. To provide consumers with information and advice on goods, services, health, environment and personal finance, etc. To establish just and equitable principles in public distribution. To provide for delivery and holding lecturers, exhibitions, meeting, classes, conferences, seminars, workshops, symposia connected directly or indirectly to advance the cause of consumer education and awareness. To establish and maintain in thiruvarur district or elsewhere, testing laboratories, libraries, reading rooms and reference libraries and to furnish the same with requisite equipments, apparatus, books, reviews news papers and other publications, statistics, reference books and all books or publication with bearing on production, trade, commerce, industries, quality, standards, distributions, etc.
