Aim/Objective/Mission : Pragati Luyadih (PL) was founded in jun 1986 in south bihar (now Jharkhand state) by a group of activists and social scientists. It was a part of the youth movement called chhattra yuva sangharsh vahini- student youth struggle force (sysf). They were working at the grassroots level with tribes, women, child labourers the movement founded for the purpose of achieving total transformation. The organization Pragati Luyadih (PL) was conceived and founded to support the grassroots work of the development activities by creating social movement. A district level non-government organization working in different social issues. The major focus areas of PL?s work are the tribal and hilly areas in these regions. By going to the people, living among the people, plan with the people, start with what the people know, build on what the people have, teach by showing, learn by doing; not piecemeal but integrated approach, not to conform but to transform, not to relief but release. Empowering the disadvantaged communities to deal with their problems by themselves. A society without poverty, illiteracy & sickness empowerment of the tribes, women and civil society gender and social equity and equality elimination of child labour right to education, health for all livelihood for the poor empowerment of gender and social equity for the tribes, women and civil society create self-governing communities & their organization through achieving basic rights and entitlement. Social and gender equity and equality for poverty reduction; livelihood and health security.

The special stress will have to be given to the activities of agricultural development, self – employment generation for upliftment of the village/cottage industries and to the work related with upliftment of poor section of the society, especially the trible population and unemployed youths. To provide fertilisers to the poor villagers and promote agricultural education. To organise seminars for development of national unity awareness programmes to youths.
